Before I go into the new theme, let me just say how much I enjoyed the last one. In fact, I think my tree was rather like ones Lissa draws, and Donna and I were certainly on the same wavelength, right? Then, what is it with so many of us thinking red mushrooms for fairy tales? Fun!

Anyway, one thing that may not be so readily apparent is really quite funny: Alex and I both liked each others' more than our own. She even joked about switching them where I would post hers and she would mine. Ha ha, while that would have certainly been novel, I suspect you'd still be able to tell who's was who's! That goes the same for each of us, actually, each with our own unique styles. That is what I so love about this art co-op — seeing how we each interpret  the same theme, even if taking the exact same object, like say, an ORANGE. (And, yes, feel free to just show the colour, if you prefer. Up to you entirely.)

Looking forward to seeing what you each come up with. Linda, however, will not be joining us next week as many of you will have noted in her last CT theme. Like our wonderful Wanda, also missed, she's going to take a creative break from here for an indeterminate time. She will be sorely missed by many of us, I know.

So, here's to you, Linda. Thank you for being such a fantastic part of this co-op. People come and go in such creative endeavors and taking a break to recharge is always a good idea. Know that while you'll be missed, you're leaving this CT richer from all your contributions...so many come to mind! :)

P.S.Sign up will be here on the bottom of this post, June 2nd, See you then, if not before. Feel free to leave a comment below too. I always like to read what you think of the themes.

P.P.S. Please go see in last post that Mariane and Niina also took up for the Fairy Tale Tree challenge.
(Sign up got messed up or something.)

  1. I have been so taken aback by all the wonderful, thoughtful and helpful comments I received, which confirmed to me just how special this group is with all the truly generous and gifted people who partake. So thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I will be keeping an eye on you all, as I hope that I will be back soon. Hugs to everyone!

  2. Linda hugs to you too! Will miss you and hope this sabbatical is a great one (-:

On a somber note, I think I know what I may do for this theme. My beloved Pomeranian had to go to sleep today )-': She was fourteen and had a long loved life. And, appropriate thematically, she was a Ginger. Orange fur and lots of it. Anyway I may do a lot of tribute art coming up, but, thinking at least one C.T. piece in Lulu's memory and honor.

    2. Oh, Donna, I am so sorry to hear about Lulu. Our pets provide so much love and when one is gone there is such a huge void. I may have to put my pooch down soon. So I truly feel your pain. :-(

    3. Oh, Donna, I am so very sorry about the loss of your lil doggie. What was his/her name? I'm sure your Pomeranian had a very rich full life, full of the love you so gave. Losing a pet is so hard--worst part about owning one is knowing that likely you will lose them down the road to old age. I am just so glad I chose "orange" as the theme as your "tribute" piece here will be perfect and a lovely sentiment too. Go for it! Thinking of you during this difficult time.

  3. It's kind of sad to see many CT participants taking breaks but I think it's good to take a break now and then. we can't always be creating & besides there's lots of other things to do. I hope Linda and Wanda will hopefully come back soon.

I think I'll do the color orange instead of the fruit, to make it easier on myself.

any chance the theme after this will be a theme-free one so we can post whatever we like? summer heat makes me such a slacker sometimes.

    anyway, have a lovely day.

    1. Lissa, not sure if you will read this or not but in case you do, in answer to your question:
"any chance the theme after this will be a theme-free one so we can post whatever we like? "
-Nope. no chance...slacker! LOL. There's Sunday Sketches for an alternative co-op if not wanting a theme. Cheeky. :)

    2. doesn't hurt to ask but it's okay, I like the challenge, well, maybe not all the time but I guess it's easy to slack off when there's so pressure.

& yes, I sometimes come back to check the comments. plus, I do stop by twice - once for the theme and then when the link is up

      have a lovely day.

  4. Hi Michael, at first glance it appears an orange might be easy, but I don't think so. LOL :-)

    1. Oh dear me. An orange couldn't be any easier, right? Easier than a fairy tree I'm thinking but we shall see! :)

  7. Michael ~ How sweet of you to mention me in the theme paragraph and even show my Fall collage from a time or two back. I want you to know, my women's Bible study is over until Sept. and I made the decision when we get back from our trip of North for a wedding the weekend of June 6th ~ I will be heading to Aaron Brothers to renew a supply of paints and paper. I will look forward to joining again when I get all my supplies. I do miss you and all the wonderful friends in this co`op. My best to Linda...enjoy you time off... but like me...you'll be back I'm sure.
