Lazy Days of Summer. Sign up now!

Having worked an over 13 hour day yesterday, I went back home early with a really horrid headache today, spending a good several hours just laying there, wiped out, before working another 3 hours later. But, these are meant to be the LAZY DAYS OF SUMMER, right?! In keeping with that, with ice pack to the back of my neck, I focused on good old days of much ado about nothing: casually strolling to TCBY to go split a yog-wich sandwich; walking around in shorts and flip flops during summer school; playing Frisbee golf and so on. Ahh... while yet always having  to work, time seemed so care-free then, even if really it wasn't for the most part. Still, there are always those memories of such summer days.  Let's focus on those. ...Now, someone pass the iced lemonade, won't you? :)

See you back here in a fortnight for the sign-up [below]. I don't know about you, but I'm doing my best to escape that sizzling sun and high temps. (Autumn can't come soon enough for Alexandra and I, let me tell you.)

  2. Hi dear, thanks so much of all those lovely comments you left, always love hearing from you!

Headaches can really wipe one out - funnily mine seemed to disappear once I retired so I think they were caused by stressful jobs! I hardly ever get even a teeny weeny one these days - thankfully - so hope hope you are soon feeling better - and yes, cooler weather may help.

We Brits just can't adjust to torrid climes I fear - I've never been able to enjoy heat and humidity - it must be something to do with growing up in cooler climes, don't you agree? In June, the UK was beautiful for our visit - although it did heat up after we left and everyone was complaining and wished they had a/c!

Jasmin had so much fun in Devon, meeting up with family and friends after a long 8 year absence. She's almost 19, the age I was when I came to the US - now so won't have a problem remembering everyone after this trip. Thank you for your kind comment regarding my grandma status with Jasmin - you know how she has been such a big part of our lives always. It was really wonderful being able to show her places from my childhood - and she didn't even act bored, just listened to my rabbiting on and love it all, bless her!

I just know you and Alexandra will soon be embracing autumn and your creativity will be boundless in the cooler days - sending love to you both.
Stay well - be happy every day.
    Hugs - Mary

    1. Thank you, Mary.

My "kids" wants to go to the UK with me but it is such an expense and especially if all of them. We shall see. :) And yes, totally, re: cooler weather.

I'm anxious for Fall....ready to get out my decorations. Sending love and hugs.

  7. I debated whether my take on the theme was fitting the theme and in the end, I decided it was. I did said I wasn't going to anything but this just came about. sometimes my brain just works and sometimes, well, you know, it's best to accept whatever comes.

hope you're having a cool summer.
