Ringing in the New Year!

As soon as it turned midnight, Harry the Bear zonked out straight back to sleep. He gave it his best shot—had his berry-liscious mince pies and glass to the ready with a bottle of (unopened) bubbly to wash it all down with. But it wasn't to be. Hmmm... maybe next year? Sleep, when you're a bear in the midst of winter, after all, is just sooo incredibly (ya-a-a-wwn) inviting.

Yes, this was much like me this year. I seem to recall staying up until about 11:30, climbing into bed, snuggling down under the covers and around 40 minutes after dozing off, peering sleepily at the phone to note it had just passed midnight, too groggy to do much of anything else. Heh. Such is life. :)

Well, I do hope each of you are having a good new year. As I write this (Monday night), I'm surrounded by our Christmas lights one more time, inside at least—this being the official last day of the Christmas Holiday season. Boo.

Nevertheless, I have something new in store.... which I'll tell you about Wednesday night when putting up our next new theme. Until then... off to visit the rest of you and your creative endeavours I might not have caught already. Happy New Year!

P.S. Important FYI here: Alexandra was good enough to paint in the initial layer of colour on this piece (following my suggestions) before I went back in and touched it up with details, contrast, etc. Isn't she sweet? Yes, I think that  should count for her entry in part too then, no? (BTW, she is currently busy catching up on other projects from being sick earlier but still hopes to visit each of you too.) :)

    1. Well, if he's anything like me, even a drop of alcohol would give him a headache anyway. Never mind, he can always heat up the mince pies later. And yes, thank you , thank you! I love what you did. It made my end so much easier and more inspired for sure too.

  6. Just LOVE this one Michael, it warms the heart! Such a wonderful story and great collaboration with the painting and drawing. Can I see a joint children's book on the horizon?

Alex, love the purples and browns in the roof and then carried through into the sky.

Mr T, so kind of you to play with my entry (I didn't mind a bit) and you were correct it was on pure white paper. I am going to put your whitened one up in place of my phone taken version.
