I drew this out originally but after taking a photo of it, felt it needed to have sharper edges so traced around each bird with the Photoshop pen tool. The hope was to offer that sort of "naive" woodcut feel. In that, I like the simplicity of this puzzle-like piece.
Anyway, for those of you who have already contributed and signed up, thank you! I enjoyed seeing your entries, as I hope everyone else did too. For the rest of you — you still have until this evening to get your piece into here!
In the meantime, I am going to nurse my very sore back and calf, all from playing tennis on Sunday, having not touched a racket for well over 20 years! Well, shoot, there likely goes my one final shot at making it to the Wimbledon "senior" circuit, as it were! :) Give my regards to Jimmy Connors...

ReplyDeleteWonderful piece, love how the birds fit together! Hope your back and calf feel better! I had a lot of fun with this topic!
ReplyDeleteI really like what you did and you way of mimicking wood! I am squeaking in at the last minute again. Thank you for hosting this!!
ReplyDeleteVery cool design, love the lines in the black and white and the way, very much like a jigsaw puzzle, the birds all fit together, creating a singular soul. Awesome piece. Thanks
ReplyDeleteSo simple and elegant, beautiful. I forgot to enter mine this week :( But I posted it with a link to here anyway.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of an Escher drawing. It really is beautiful in its simplicity, but I bet it took a long time to do.
