MINTY

This MINTY theme came at the perfect time even while thinking it up long before knowing about this red cup contest over @Starbucks which, of course, I duly entered (on my Instagram account). Yes, yes, I know it's a suuuuper long shot but so hope mine (or Alex's) gets picked. Must admit, I'd love to have that fantastically designed Sterling Silver card! It's just darling. Haha, one can always dream, right?

Anyway, the idea here was showing Starbucks' small cup in front of the grande (larger) version behind it, with each sort of facing each other, like a couple might look at one another. Warm cuppas of anything are always good for that a romantic moment, you know, especially when its cold outside! :) I decided not to draw the logo's details but just estimate where the it should go then take a photo of it later, digitally placing it into my art after I was done with imagining everything else. I like how the logo stands out from the sketchy line drawing. I really had fun with this one, even whilst doing it so very last minute again! Oh dear me. LOL.

OK, on to checking out the your own minty ideas later tonight. Thanks for playing along. I can't wait to to tell you the next theme too. Should be fun!

  1. Mister Toast, this was such a great theme! I finally got it done and made a Minty Marsupial (another Koala, what a surprise from me) and Mint is a great theme given that the holidays are coming up. Also, I love your Starbucks Red Cup illustration! I hope you or Alex win the contest. Your illustration makes me think of drinking warm and yummy drinks to get cozy during the cold of winter. Thanks again, and yay for Creative Tuesdays!

  3. This is absolutely wonderful. Starbucks should have a large poster of this in every store. I must tell you I can't participate this week... Out of town company coming and preparations are taking all my free time. Catch you next time, hopefully.
