CANDY canes (#86)

I'm my most creative when facing a looming deadline so it isn't any wonder that it wasn't until yesterday, Monday morning, whilst at work that all of a sudden this idea hit me. I couldn't wait to get home and hit the slopes after that! :) It must be all those years in my career as a graphic designer creating stuff from scratch at a moment's notice that my creativity is somehow trained to work under such cauldrons of pressure. Anyway, there you go.

Funnily enough, although the mountain peaks to the west loom large, white capped and lovely, the hard reality (for me) is that my least favourite season is rapidly upon me with highs this week promised to reach the 90's (F). Ugh. Well, at least it's not sticky here and the evenings get wonderfully cool too. :) Still, not to be daunted, it doesn't stop me wishing for cooler days anyhow, even snow again. In a weird way then, I suppose one could say I have the hotter weather to thank for this Valley Winter Song themed card! Ha. (Well, anyway, can't wait to later add it to my ETSY, actually. Now, just when is Xmas again? Ahhh, one can keep dreaming such SWEET dreams as these...)

Right, off to take my youngest* out for his birthday breakfast then will view your contributions again and leave comments tonight. Yes, I've already taken a sneak peek... and if you haven't already, you can too....

* And let me tell you, he is quite the artist in his own right. I wish you could see the painting he whisked up of birch trees this afternoon. (Fabulously painterly and expressive.) Hehe... all those trips to galleries and such must have paid off! I'm so proud of him! A wonderful gentleman (like his older brother) AND artist in the making. :D

(As always, please feel free to first read CREATIVE TUESDAYS Guidelines, Rules & FAQ —especially if new here— for keeping consistency and brand ID on our co-op and with respect to all those who contribute here. ONLY posts that clearly follow the simple guidelines will be included or commented on, in interest of time and so on. Thank you.)

  6. Well Happy Birthday to your *youngest*. Just love your entry and since my son is a Graphic Designer by vocation, know those deadlines he faces. Being in the 90's here, it was refreshing to see snow slopes and a hint of "Christmas"... I took your advice and ended up with "cookies" for my "sweet theme". Speaking of *Youngest* will be with ours in Oregon for the next month loving on that new grandbaby. Will get back on board when we get home in July. Love and Hugs.

  7. Loved your cute little robin. Also, anything you can do to make my link more efficient is fine with me as long as I don't have to do anything complicated. I'm not overly familiar with all the techie ways :) Just let me know if I have to do anything different.

  8. Lovely candy canes:) Belated birthday wishes to the little artist. Oh museum visits are always worth it. I should know since I've been building artshows with kids.
Looks like I missed the challenge this time :( I moved 100 kilometers away and graduated as an art instructor this month) so it's been kinda busy but luckily there are more challenges to enter.

    1. 100 km is how long in miles again? :) Sorry, I may have been raised with metric but my teachers were staunchly English and taught most of us in the old fashioned ways. Anyway, Nina, yes, missed your entry. I was sure you'd have done something fabulous. Oh well, the next theme will be great too.
Good luck with the move and transition.

    1. Heather!!!! I was very happy to see your name here. How lovely. Does that mean you might join CT again every now and then. I miss your sweet illustrations added to the various themes and I'm quite sure I speak for all the old timers here.
